I was on a project with an edtech client that wanted an AI-powered homework app. The most challenging component of this app, by far, was the math app as in 2023 AI models really struggled with math. There are benchmarks dedicated to measuring the performance of LLMs in math tasks.
To help them prioritize features, I took a deep dive into the top math apps on the market and compiled a matrix of features. But since all features aren’t created equal, I included contextual notes and a legend to help guide the users in understanding some of the limitations and caveats using comments and hyperlinks.
